BIOINFORMATICS
RESEARCH
GROUP (BRG)

Welcome to the Bioinformatics Research Group (BRG) at the University of Louisville.

ABOUT US

The BRG was formed in mid-2001. Members of the group come from a diverse set of disciplines such as the Department of Computer Engineering and Computer Science (CECS), Department of Anatomical Sciences and Neurobiology (ASNB), Systems Analysis Laboratory (SAL), Center for Birth Defects, Center for Genetics in Molecular Medicine (CGeMM), Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB), and the Department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (B&B).

MISSION

Our mission is to bring together researchers from various disciplines to discuss and apply bioinformatics algorithms and analysis to biological research questions. We strive create a synergistic group that can work together to further the productivity of each other's research and to create new collaborative areas.

CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS

Our current research areas include computational analysis of DNA and protein sequences, microarray design and image processing, modeling and statistical analysis of molecular biological data and genetic databases.

REGULAR MEETINGS

The BRG meets bimonthly during the school year, alternating between the Belknap and HSC campuses. The current meeting schedule can be viewed online

For more information on BRG, or join out listserv, contact Dr. Eric Rouchka.
